Spencerport Rotary Meeting

Secretary Report: Thank you notes from Eagle Star for meals, and Brockport Community College for Roger Ressman Scholarship.
Reading/Literacy: Anne is still in need of more readers. There are a couple of schools who are in need of readers. If you can, please consider reading at two schools – Munn and Barnabi. See Anne for specific dates / times.
Volunteer Opportunites – Sign-up sheet passed around. Colleen will reach out to those who were not at the meeting.
Enchanted Village – Saturday, Dec. 7 setup; event Sunday, Dec. 8. This is the new “Christmas on the Canal” – Rotary providing insurance – will receive advertising. Kathy has banner, extra Rotary signs. Will put up on Saturday before the event.
- Dave has contacted Robert Colby for hay bales & truck. Dave can pick up truck and deliver bales to downtown site on Sunday morning, however we need someone who can drive the truck back with the bales. Kathy will find a place to park truck out of the way during event.
- Joe has contacted the Wrestling Team for their availability to unload and distribute the bales and will be available for pickup at end of event. A map will be provided by the committee chair (Linda) noting where the bales will be set up.
- NOTE – For those who can help on Sat. and/or Sun., will send out some additional information on what shifts will be set up and what duties will be.
Bell Ringing for Salvation Army - Have all the volunteers needed. Thank you to all who offered to help.
Ogden Holiday Celebration - Ogden Community Center, Friday, December 6th. Set up 4:30, event from 5:00-7:00pm to distribute bubbles to children.
Poinsettias 197 plants sold - up from 153 last year. Profit $640.25 – best year yet!
Christmas Carol - Kim Tenreiro is presenting his show at the Hilton Baptist Church on Saturday, November 23
rd. Get tickets at 585-392-7990 in the mornings or contact Anne directly

Pirate Toy Fund - Saturday, December 14th, - 4500 under privileged children invited to the Blue Cross Arena for a Christmas celebration and gifts. Looking for Rotary volunteers to help either 9am-11am or 11am-1pm.
Christmas Families – Date for gift wrapping TBA. Also need non-perishable food, please contribute what you can and bring to evening meeting on Wednesday, 12/4 or lunch meeting on Tuesday, 12/10.
Club Runner – Dave presented the opportunity to switch our website from the current one to a new one via Club Runner. Shows samples of what others club have done, including lots of pictures. Board vote held to make the switch – unanimous yes. Colleen will send additional photos to Dave, and he will set it up for us. Thanks, Dave!
Zoom Calls – Discussion regarding the need to offer zoom calls at meetings. Zoom calls put on hold for now, at least until we have a club member who can set up the equipment in Dave’s absence and club members step forward saying they would like to have Zoom calls.
Club Holiday Party – Wednesday, Dec. 11th gathering in Kos and Michele’s -- replaces our meeting on that date.
No meeting next week – hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
