About Our Club

The Rotary Club of Spencerport, chartered in 1976, is part of Rotary International, the world’s first service club organization, which was founded in 1905.

Today, Rotary has more than 1.2 million members in 35,000 clubs in over 200 countries worldwide.

Rotary International is one of only two organizations (the other being the International Red Cross) that has a PERMANENT seat at the United Nations.

Rotary club members are volunteers, from all walks of life, who work locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace and eradicate polio under the motto “SERVICE ABOVE SELF.”

In their lives and businesses, members practice:

THE FOUR WAY TEST (OF THE THINGS WE THINK, SAY OR DO)

FIRST – Is it the TRUTH?
SECOND – Is it FAIR to all concerned?
THIRD – Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
FOURTH – Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

We apply these principles to our projects locally, regionally and internationally.

Throughout the year, many residents of the Spencerport Community quietly experience the impact that the Spencerport Rotary Club makes. Whether it’s through our annual Scholarship program, our environmental clean-up projects, or the annual Golf Tournament, Geranium flower sale and our engagement with the Spencerport School District, Spencerport has long enjoyed the activities of our local Rotary Club.

Did you know that our reach extends beyond Spencerport? As a part of the International Rotary organization, we have the opportunity to provide assistance throughout the world wherever a need exists.

Having a presence in the village for over four decades, its members still strive to fulfill the Rotary motto “Service Above Self”.
